“War of the Worlds”: Let’s Take Another Look.
Today we’ll be examining a deeply fascinating quote from Daniel Hopsicker, author of Mad Cow Morning News, which is a pretty f***ing remarkable website. He’s also written one of the best works on 9-11, “Welcome to Terrorland”.
His contention is that the infamous “War of the Worlds” radio broadcast of Orson Welles was more than just an inspired and infamous prank—it was a deliberate experiment in mass panic, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Considering the Rockefellers have funded a number of very sinister people --- and especially considering the Rockefellers are currently funding Dr. Stephen Greer of the Disclosure Project --- this would be a very important precedent, if it were true.
And there’s the tricky part --- is it?
Crash Course on Crop Circles: The Sequel
In which we dig a little deeper, ask more questions, get less answers, and look at lots of pictures.
Two important points to start with:
1) The hoaxers are very real and also very talented, and they’ve pulled a lot of very funny pranks on the crop circle community.
2) There’s still a number of deeply weird and unanswered questions regarding crop circles, and the hoaxers themselves even admit that. As usual, if you’re comfortable with logical and binary solutions, Brainsturbator is a hot paperclip under your toenails.
We’re going to seriously consider the possibility of communication with aliens, the possibility of building up an entire culture as a psychology experiment, and the possibility of space weaponry like SDI already existing for decades. If that sounds like fun, God help you. At least you came to the right place.
A Crash Course on Crop Circles
The science, the controversy, the hoaxes, the weirdness, the geometry....you know, there’s a lot to cover when you start looking into crop circles. First of all, if you’re thinking “wait a second, wasn’t this all proven to be a prank some British guys did?”, you really need to re-assess how you form your opinions and beliefs. Second of all, if you’re thinking “ah, yes, the messages from aliens”, you really need to re-assess your abililty to make informed decisions. As usual, Brainsturbator will be walking a heretic path that will manage to piss off a great many people without even making any conclusions.
And as usual, Brainsturbator will be lazy as hell and mostly post up a few dozen really pretty photos for our beautiful, talented and brilliant readers to download. There will be links, there will be quotes, and there will be a lot of unanswerable questions. Hopefully you will wind up as curious, confused and energized as I am.
Another Look at UFO as in “Flying Saucers”

We’re not big on conclusions (or spell-checking) here at Brainsturbator. We’re into savoring the flavor of ambiguity, you know, meaning without clarity. But here’s an easy conclusion to make: flying saucers are real.
So although we’re going to spend the rest of this week arguing that UFOs are not flying saucers and probably not extra-terrestrial either --- first we’re going to look at the cliches and the stereotypes. As is often the case, there’s a lot of truth buried under them.
Neurogenesis: There’s a Party in Your Skull and You’re Invited
The great thing about being alive these days is the raw speed at which the paradigms shift. If you’re not too keen on current theory—in any discipline anywhere—don’t worry, because a decade from now everything will be completely different. This article takes a look at neurogenesis: the long-disputed, finally-proven mechanism which produces new brain cells. If you still believe that humans only have a limited number of neurons during their life, good news: you’re completely fricking wrong.

Helpful Hints for Budding Dream Scientists
“Dreaming states provide interesting PET scans in which the cortex is perceptually activated in a manner consistent with the similar EEG to the waking state, and the intensity of the dream experiences. One feature different in dreams is the lower activity of the inferior frontal cortex, which may reflect the uncontrolled nature of dreams....REM sleep PET scans parallel the awake brain in activation of the visual cortex and frontal lobes.”
