Needs more cow bell.

It looks good I like the color and format, though I do like rounded-edges better; Makes it flow together better, or something like that. Looks more modern than before, not sure if that’s what you were going for but I like. Cleaned up the sidebar perfectly, it was getting a bit weird before.

Our main goals for the redesign were.

Get people to read older content.  We did this by:

Fixing the archives.
Fixing the sidebar, adding recent entries.
Adding related and random articles to the bottom of every post (although the related aren’t filled in yet.

Get more people to use the forums:

Removed the comments and opted a more prominent link to the article threads.
Added recent threads along side the recent entries in the sidebar.

Make the content more readable.

changed the fonts and column width.
lowered the contrast a tad.
added working print functionality. (note you don’t actually have to go to the print link to get a good print, just try it smile

We also tried to make it more aesthetically pleasing

Modern was the chosen motif. (you got it)
Sans serif for browsing, serif for print
Tried to keep the typography real tight.

Thanks for the feed back.  We’re going to keep working on the site (no website is every really finished is it?) and hopefully we’ll get some more cowbell in there for you.

I think you guys have done a really awesome job cleaning up the structure and making the site more aesthetically pleasing, while at the same time adding much needed functionality, much of which I didn’t even realize was needed in the first place.  I especially like the new meta fields and the Twitter integration.

My one gripe is that there isn’t much Gomar going on for something touted as a Gomar x Brainsturbator joint.  The logo is dope, don’t get me wrong, and it definitely meshes with the modernized look of the site, but I kind of feel like anyone could have made it.

He worked extensively on the typography and colors, the stuff you don’t notice but really makes a difference in readability.  He’s also working on a logo and doing some more work to the header.  I just couldn’t wait to launch any longer!

Yeah, I know how that can be.  I just loves me some Gomar.  Can’t wait to see the changes to come.

Cleaner and sleeker defo, but would <3 more shiny on the splash, for the initial eyeball.
Guessing the new logo will be doing the eyeball anchoring, can’t wait for new logo…
