I would be very, very interested in finding any one stop of that debate tour with Liddy vs. Leary on video.

Those two really do sum up my personal vision of Real America.  I have a lot of older friends and mentors who are extremely conservative and elitist, but I still love and respect them because they work hard, they have balls, and they actually live by their principles.  Liddy strikes me as being a very similar kind of admirable hardass/jackass.

It’s the Wolfowitz dudes that get my blood boiling.  The academics, the statistics poodles, the policy perverts.

---also amazing how much Tim was dead on, I remember reading Chaos & Cyber Culture in 2001 and being astonished by how accurate the predictions of “that crazy hippie” really were.  He was one of the greatest scientists of the past century, makes me wonder how many other great scientists got embalmed out of history.
